SUMMIT SCHOOL

Since 1968, Summit School, Inc. has been dedicated to fulfilling the needs of children with learning differences from kindergarten through high school graduation.

Students with learning disabilities, emotional and anxiety issues, or on the autism spectrum attend Summit School from more than 20 school districts throughout the Chicago area.

Our Cognia-accredited program is designed to give students the skills, strategies and self-confidence to successfully transition to community schools, post-secondary education or employment.

Summit School provides a comprehensive, individualized approach to learning, giving students the tools they need to adapt, grow and thrive both in and out of school.

Our programs optimize individual success through:

• Small class sizes grouped by age and ability with individualized instructional supports

• Specialized programs tailored for students to develop self-regulation, organizational, time management and reciprocal social skills

• Students teamed with families, staff, school districts and community partners to create transition plans that support lifelong goals

Summit School teachers and staff are highly qualified and specialized in their areas of expertise. Classrooms are staffed with a teacher and paraprofessional. Students are supported with counselors, occupational therapists, speech/language therapists, transition specialists and a Certified Behavior Behavior Analyst.

Our administrative team consists of visionary leaders with careers dedicated to the lifelong success of students with learning differences.
