The EAGLE Plan is a positive behavior program that has students continuously self-evaluating their participation in behaviors which lead to successful academic achievement and excellence of character.
The EAGLE Plan is a level system where each letter of the word EAGLE begins a program level title: Excellence, Achievement, Goal Setting, Learning and Entering.
Each day, students self-evaluate their positive behaviors through the online EAGLE System. At the end of each period, students record points for that particular period. Parents also have access to their student's online EAGLE Plans and are encouraged to review how students progress throughout the day. This real-time access helps to inform family interactions and encourage support of behaviors at home.
In addition to the behaviors that lead to academic success, the EAGLE Plan uses the six pillars of the Character Counts Curriculum: Respect; Responsibility; Caring; Trustworthiness; Fairness and Citizenship; and the Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS). Used for many years at Summit School, the PBIS program emphasizes students and staff catching students engaging in positive behaviors.
Summit School believes the social-emotional well-being of its students is critical to their success in our program. The EAGLE Plan is designed to be a positive rather than deficit system that helps students build the skills and behaviors they need
to be successful in their lives.
